VISION & GOAL

The program has the objective to share with students not only a package of information, but also the proper attitude of coaching. It could be seen also like a journey, both for participants and instructor, based on the fundamental concepts of coaching, but mostly on the right beliefs and values for helping and support the clients’ fundamental interests.

PARTICIPANTS

The program (90 hours) runs over a period of three months and is designed to build the foundation for coaches, either professional coaches, either internal coaches, based on ICF framework and competencies. It could also be seen like a personal journey, students learn how to coach based on real life situations, they traverse from very beginner to competent coach, able to apply for and obtain ICF credentials.

PHILOSOPHY

The program is very comprehensive for the students, including lecturing in the class, role playing, peer coaching, reading, class discussions and debriefs, introspection and feedback, writing a final paper and also mentoring and supervision preparing the credentialing exams. During the 90 hours required, the program trains in the spirit of ICF, including in the curricula the Definition of Coaching, Code of Ethics and all 11 ICF Core Competencies.

LEARNING GOALS

During the training days, students are asked to participate into interactive lecturing sessions, to act as a coach, client and observer, at least for 15 times each, and to demonstrate coaching skills in front of the group. For t least two sessions they will receive written feedback, based on a special Observation Sheet.

APPROACH

Synchronous Interactions: 56 training hours, plus 20 hours of mentoring and feedback, (real time interactions, face to face or online). These activities mean direct instruction, real-time discussions, feedback of practice coaching sessions, mentoring, observations, clarifications, group debates. Total: 76 hours, 84.4% of training.

Asynchronous Interactions: Peer Coaching, Journaling Peer Coaching Sessions, research, elaborate and writing an essay about the student’s role in the coaching community & world. The validating method is cross checking with peer coaches/ matching their coaching journals. For the written papers – sending/reading the essay and giving personalized feedback. Total: 14 hours, 15.4% of training.

AGENDA

Module 1: – Course 1

This is the introductory module of the program. Delegates will be familiarized with the definition of coaching and the main differentiators between coaching approach and other disciplines. Via class presentation, interactions and demonstrations, they will know what is coaching and what is not, which are the ethical and professional standards and how to establish a solid coaching agreement. Module 2: – Course 2

This module is consolidating the power of coaching by using the most important part of being a coach: the presence. Active listening and powerful questioning are building up on the theory and practical examples, while the direct communication makes the difference between one “mechanical” session and one human conversation focused on client’s objectives. Students are working in small groups, coach-client-observer, using various tools and methods for having an authentic connection. Module 3 – Course 3

Based on initial agreement and the presence, it’s time to create more awareness, allowing the client to understand who he/she is, why the action and changes are needed and how to advance in both personal and professional journey. This module also includes presentations, examples and a group debate on team coaching, how the core competencies can be applied in the team’s context. Peer coaching & Practice between class trainings (Skype meetings, validated by trainer’s presence and individual logbook).

III.11. 8th Competency – Creating Awareness – Work with blockages, values and beliefs

Module 4 – Course 4: Preparing and evaluation for exam/certificate – Mentoring Days

This is the final module of the course. Coaches are ready to have constantly good coaching sessions, it’s time to demonstrate the complete understanding of competencies, to listen and to be present, to support the client to grow as a human. All the participants will have to have observed coaching sessions, receiving feedback from the client, other colleagues and lead instructor. At the end, the graduates will present their personal essay on what they bring in the world of coaching.

o          Recap all 11 ICF Competencies, Presenting the Essay themes, discussions & feedback

o          Formal written feedback for Coaching Sessions from instructor (following all 11 ICF Competencies  and Core Competencies Comparison Table)

Practicum – Peer Coaching 4 sessions peer coaching.

Essay – elaborate on the theme: „My Role in the World of Coaching” (min. 1500 words) – journaling, research and writing) and Practicum – Peer Coaching 4 sessions peer coaching.
